Youth Charity Jam

I have been asked to be a judge for the 2013 Youth Charity Jam.  It should be a great time, and a flash into the past for me.  For many years I was performing with a band or as a solo artist, and almost released my own album.  Even today I find myself wishing I could remember all the songs I wrote, and playing my guitar on the couch.  (No, I will not post any of the songs.  You want to hear them, come to my house with a 6 pack of brew)

Obviously I took a different path, but I still love music, and keep close to the young artists through my work w/ Rockin’ 4 Rockton.  There are some great memories I have of the 2007 Rockford Idol competition, which I was the anchor judge, so I know judging the YCJ will be a blast. I’m looking forward to seeing all the talent, but selecting a winner will not be easy.

The Jam is put on each year by the Rockford Area Music Industry (RAMI) Association.  The winner will be offered a slot to play Rockin’ 4 Rockton, get $300, free studio recording time, and will also play at the 22nd Annual RAMI Awards.

The Jam is set for this Saturday, 7pm @ the Tebala Shrine Temple, Rockford. Tickets are $7 at the door.
